Daisy Days with Helen Picton **postponed due to weather**

Event Summary

The November speaker, Julian Sutton from Devon, entertained the Group with his lecture entitled ‘Adventures in Fancy Foliage’. A keen botanist and horticulturalist he explored the different structures of leaf formations and their characteristics. He showed us how interest can be created by the use of different leaf forms. The main emphasis covered the species Polypodiums, Euphorbias,Pulmonarias, Persicarias and Begonias.

The December meeting of the Rutland Group of the Hardy Plant Society will be held on Tuesday 12th December at Uppingham Methodist Church, Orange Street, LE15 9SQ at 7.30pm and festive refreshments will be available. We have another excellent speaker, Helen Picton from the famous Michaelmas Daisy Nursery near Malvern, where a national collection is held. Her title will be ‘Daisy Days’. Admission, including refreshments, is £3.00 for members and £5.00 for very welcome visitors.
