Every day throughout the summer holidays there will be water themed play and activities for free at Oakham Castle – 10am until 4pm

Stamford Children's Centre on Green Lane are offering a range of free summer activities from 0 to 8 and families

Every Saturday morning through August and July it's Jumpers 4 Goalposts for 4 to 14-year olds at Stamford Recreation Ground  9.30am until 10.30am. Football teams picked and play for an hour. £1

Edgedance -  Street dance, comercial and contemporary dance for all young dancers aged 8 to adult. Students will work on dance and performance techniques in these weekly Classes. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Catmose College

Rutland Libraries present 'Animal Agents' Summer Reading Challenge 2017. Calling all budding detectives in Rutland this summer - visit your local Rutland library to take part and start collecting clues. All you have to do is read six books throughout the summer and collect special awards on the way

Mums and Tots Rides at Rutland Cycling, Whitwell
Each ride leaves Rutland Water or Fineshade Wood every Friday morning, starting at 10am. Dads and other carers are welcome too! Rides are at a leisurely pace, usually around 5 miles, and are suitable for all abilities.
Free to join with your own bike - or take advantage of our special reduced hire rates for breeze rides:
Hire a bike, child seat (age 12mths to 4 yrs) and helmets for £5
Hire a bike, 2 child trailer (age 18mths to 4yrs) and helmets for £10

Crafts every Wednesday at Rutland County Museum from 2nd  to 23rd August - Sessions at 10am to 12noon & 1.30pm to 3.30pm
Suitable for children 4-10 years. £2 per child. No need to book, just drop in. All children must be accompanied by an adult

Stay and Play/Messy Play - Visions Children’s Centre, Community Hub, Catmose Campus
0 to 4-years. Every Monday (except Bank Holidays) 1pm until 2.30pm


Wednesday 16th August

Archery Day at Oakham Castle
The longbow played a decisive role on the medieval battlefield. Try your hand at the bow and get a sense of what it was like to be a Medieval archer. Age 6
10.30am until 3.30pm – 6 arrows for £3


Bee Creative at Rutland County Museum
10am-12noon & 1.30-3.30pm
£2 per child
Create cute butterflies, ladybirds and bees using a range of materials

All workshops are suitable for children 4-10 years. No need to book, just drop in. All children must be accompanied by an adult

Thursday 17th August

Clever Creatures at Rutland County Museum 11am until 12.30pm. Come and join the 'Lion Learners' to listen to stories and meet live animals as part of the celebrations for this year's Summer Reading Challenge. It’s free and uitable for children aged 5 - 12 years. No need to book, just drop in. All children must be accompanied by an adult

Touch Rugby Rutland Tournament 10am until 5pm
Venue: Oakham School Astroturf
The tournament will be held on the Saturday 19th August 2017 starting at 10am and finishing approximately 5pm for the lucky finalists. This is an all-day event to be enthusiastic about

Monday 21st August

Learning Disability and Sport Workshop, 6pm until 9pm
Venue: Active Rutland Hub, Oakham Enterprise Park
Developed through a partnership between Mencap Sport and Special Olympics Great Britain, this workshop looks at learning disability and sport. It aims to help clubs, coaches and providers of sport understand how to support people with a learning disability to access sporting opportunities in an inclusive environment.

Tuesday 22nd August

Tuesday Guided Walk on the Reserve
9:30am until 12:30pm
Venue: Egleton Reserve
For beginners and enthusiasts alike! Join Jeff for a walk around the Egleton reserve and learn about the birds and wildlife that you encounter along the way

Wednesday 23rd August

Sheep Day at Oakham Castle
There’s a selection of heritage and rare breeds on show as well as a Sheep Parade. There will be heritage crafts related to wool and dying as well as textile talks and item handling

Accessible Walk in Exton Park for children and young people with SEND and their families
Meet on The Green by The Fox and Hounds, Exton to start at 2pm
We will return to this point after a gentle circular walk of approx. 2km
The route is suitable for buggies and wheelchairs, with some gentle inclines. Please note there are no toilets on the route

Summer Holiday Dodgeball Club
Venue: Whissendine Primary School
Sessions take place indoors at Whissendine Primary School(or outdoors on the field/AstroTurf if appropriate weather). Sessions are led by Pro Coach Ben Eshelby (Primary School PE coach & Dodgeball qualified instructor). All coaches are fully qualified, DBS checked & have undertaken child protection & first aid training, along with experience at coaching young players

Drop in Day at Rutland Water
No booking necessary - Just turn up, bring the children and do some wildlife crafts, bug hunting and some pond dipping, anytime between 10am and 3pm. £3 per person
