Coffee Brownies

Coffee, Walnut and Chocolate Brownies

200g Dark chocolate

50g Plain flour

1 tsp Baking powder

125g Butter

175g Soft brown sugar

1tsp Coffee powder

2 Eggs, beaten

50g walnuts

Vanilla essence

·     Pre heat oven to 180°C

 

·     Line and grease an 18cm square cake tin

 

·     Sift the flour and baking powder

 

·     Melt 50g of the chocolate in a bowl over simmering water

 

·     Add butter and stir until melted

 

·     Place sugar,coffee, eggs and vanilla in a bowl and sift in the flour and baking powder

 

·     Stir in the melted chocolate and stir well

 

·     Chop remaining chocolate and walnuts stir in

 

·     Place in prepared cake tin, smoothing top and bake for about 40 minutes

 

·     Allow to settle and then turn out of cake tin

 

·     Cut into even squares
