A Colleyweston property developer who was jailed for manslaughter, has failed in his bid to clear his name.

53 year old Andrew William Winterton, from the High Street, was found guilty after health and safety breaches led to the death of a who was man was buried alive when a trench collapsed on a construction site in the village in 2014.

He was jailed for 4 years and given a 20 thousand pound fine.

His lawyers tried to argue the case against him was weak - but judges at the Court of appeal disagreed - saying he WAS aware the trench was dangerous.
