Action promised on poverty in Rutland

It's claimed better support is urgently needed to help people in Rutland who are struggling to cope.

Figures out last week showed 15% of children in the county live in low income households.

Fuel poverty also continues to be a problem in the area.

A study of local poverty has now been carried out - with Rutland County Council expected to agree a new policy on the matter soon based on the findings.

Its thought part of the issue can be solved by helping people get better access to help.
