Drop in care home occupancy in Rutland

There has been a drop in the number of older people in Rutland needing a bed in a residential care home.

Occupancy rates are now at 82% which is being partly put down to social workers doing more to help people stay living independently.

Rutland County Council admit it's more difficult to meet demand for complex conditions, but a new home planned for Oakham North should help ease pressure for that kind of care.
