East Midlands Ambulance Service took hundreds of calls in first few hours of 2018

The Ambulance service covering Stamford and Rutland say they took over 1,000 calls in the first 6 hours of 2018.

East Midlands Ambulance Service say many were because people had too much to drink.

But despite the big spike - they managed to answer each call within 2 seconds.

They're still very busy - warning they don't have an unlimited supply of vehicles and have to prioritise life threaning cases.
