Older drivers are being given the chance to refresh their driving skills in Rutland.

Rutland County Council have organised a course where people can be updated on the Highway Code and road regulations, if they learnt to drive several decades ago.

The courses are free and held regularly by the authority, the next one is on Monday 24th September.

Councillor Roger Begy, Cabinet Portolio Holder for Road Safety, says: "Driving is more complex and demanding than it used to be. The council organises these courses for older drivers on a regular basis and they prove extremely popular. It’s a chance to have a quick refresher about driving and to discuss any issues that might concern you”.

Councillor Begy added: "There is considerably more traffic on the road and drivers have to process more and more information in the form of traffic signs and road markings plus dealing with all the new in car technology. All of these topics will be covered at this FREE event”.
