Homes evacuated

Gas explosion in Deeping St. James

Several houses have had to be evacuated overnight following a gas explosion in Deeping St James.

The emergency services were called to reports of a fire on Manor Way just before two o clock.

It's believed the explosion was caused by a build up of methane gas in an underground sewerage pump.

People were evacuated from nearby homes as a precautionary measure... it's not thought anyone's been hurt.
