Insurance fears as spate of lead thefts from Rutland churches continues

There are fears insurers will refuse to pay out to Rutland's churches if thieves continue stealing lead from their roofs.

5 have been targeted by criminals over the past few months.

The latest incidents metal taken from St Peters Church in Empingham and St Andrews Church in Hambleton earlier this week.

Rutland Heritage Watch is warning churches unable to get compensation may fall into disrepair, as a result of being handed the bill to replace roofing.
