Lincolnshire health groups consider 'minimum' 3 month wait for surgery

Some patients in Lincolnshire could be forced to wait for a minimum of 3 months before treatment for things like joint replacements.

The health groups in charge are considering introducing the waiting list for non urgent conditions saying they have responsibility to make sure money is spent in the most effective way.

4 Lincolnshire CCGs are considering the move.

They also argue there's evidence some conditions get better over time meaning surgery isn't necessary.

Labour is demanding the Health Secretary intervenes to ban the idea.
