New project to tackle domestic abuse in Stamford area

£1.4m is going to be invested in helping tackle domestic violence in areas including Stamford .

Lincolnshire Police have won backing from the Home Office for the scheme, which will see specialists work with people who commit domestic violence to help them change their behaviour.

Officers, social workers and teachers given training on how to deal with dometic abuse.

Its being run with help from charities Women's Aid and Respect.
