NHS winter crisis: Pressure continues at Stamford & Peterborough hospitals

Over 93% of NHS beds at hospitals in Stamford and Peterborough were occupied at the end of last week, as the health service continues to suffer one of its busiest ever winter periods.

Hospitals across the country are well above the 85% rate considered safe.

Last week just over 200 patients who were taken to our local hospitals by ambulances waited more than an hour for treatment.

Prime Minister Theresa May is blaming an outbreak of winter flu for the extra pressure.
