People in Stamford and Rutland healthier for longer

People living in Stamford and Rutland can expect to live healthy lives into their 70s, according to new stats.

The Office for National Statistics looked at both overall life expectance and the length of time people live without illnesses that seriously impact their wellbeing.

Across the area they found that both men and women generally live into their early 70s in good or excellent health.

In Stamford St John's men can expect to live to be 86, while women generally live into their 90s.

In Rutland, Normanton has the highest overall life expectancy; 84 for for men and 86 for women.
