Playground under threat

Will a local authority enforce planning rules?

Thousands of pounds worth of play equipment could be removed from a Rutland village following a planning dispute.

It's after a play area aimed at eight to sixteen year olds was installed in Whissendine last spring.

The equipment includes a shelter, nest swing and climbing equipment.

Rutland County Council now say it doesn't adhere to planning regulations mapped out back in the nineteen seventies.

A meeting is expected to be held tonight to discuss the issue.
