Serviceman 'unlawfully killed'

Inquest comes to a close

An RAF serviceman from Leicestershire was unlawfully killed...a coroner has ruled.

Acting Corporal Marcin Wojtak was killed in a bomb blast in 2009.

The 24 year old from Melton Mowbray was travelling in a Vector armoured truck when it hit a roadside bomb in Helmand Province in October 2009.

It's a type of vehicle that was phased out...just a day after the RAF gunner was killed.

The Inquest in Loughborough heard he may have survived if he'd been travelling in a different type of truck.

After a 3 day inquest the coroner ruled that Wojtak was killed unlawfully.
