Stamford artist Nelson Dawson to get blue plaque

Stamford Civic Society have received permission to build a blue plaque to honour one of the town's most famous artists.

Nelson Dawson was a designer, enameller and metal worker born in 1839.

His pieces were displayed around the world.

They say they can now officially pay tribute to one of their most influencial former residents.
