Stamford faces shortage of primary school places

Extra classrooms are to be built at one of Stamford's largest primary schools, as the town is facing a huge demand for places.

Malcolm Sargent Primary say they've had 200 applications this year alone and have decided to take on an extra reception class in September to better serve the community.

The alternative would have been sending children to schools miles away from home.

In a letter to parents the Principal Tristan Revell said that solution would be 'unacceptable'.
