Lincolnshire Police officers suffer 133 assaults in 6 months

The force that covers Stamford also had to restrain people almost 3,000 times over that time.

The police force covering Stamford have revealed that more than 130 of their officers gave been physically assaulted over the last 6 months.

New stats show since April 133 Lincolnshire Police officers have been the victims of assaults - from being spat at to having teeth knocked out and noses broken.

They also had to use force to restrain people almost 3 thousand times - during those arrests 138 officers were injured.

Alcohol and drugs were the main factors in suspects being aggressive towards them.
