Summit looks to tackle accidents on Lincolnshire's roads

Road safety experts are looking at ways of reducing the number of crashes on Lincolnshire's roads.

A summit on the issue is taking place in Grantham this morning.

40 people have been killed in accidents in the county so far this year - the latest was a pedestrian who was killed in a crash with a HGV at Butterwick yesterday morning.

However, the number of people killed has dropped by around 50% compared to 10 years ago.

It's already been suggested that volunteers could be trained to monitor the speed of people driving through our villages.
