The cost of filling Rutland's salt gritting bins likely to be partly passed on to Parish Councils.

As part of the new Winter strategy

The cost of filling Rutland's salt gritting bins is likely to be partly passed on to Parish Councils.

The County Council's looking at a new winter weather strategy which would see bins filled twice free of charge but if salt has to be replaced after that Parish Councils would have to pay.

The plans would also see more volunteer snow wardens who would agree to clear roads and pathways in the event of bad weather.
