MONDAY 10TH JULY

DON'T STEP ON A BEE DAY - It's summer so we've got bugs flying around, and bees which some people can find a nuisance. But we forget how important bees actually are in the world. I learnt that bees create Propolis found in the hive that fights bacteria and infections in humans as well. So if you see a little bee looking a little frail get it some sugary water. Hear my chat with Hugo Fearnley from Beevital in the podcast.

TUESDAY 11TH

KAVANAGH'S - You may have spotted Kavanagh's tea room in Oakham, near the Buttercross. It's tucked away and it's run by a lady called Clare Kavanagh. But Clare hasn't has the smoothest ride in life with 2 spinal surgeries and 2 holes in her heart. But she's not letting that hold her back, an inspiring story hear more in the podcast.

She's also on a mission to collect little snippets of history to display inside the tea room, so if you have any bits you don't mind parting with pop them in.

LEAVE IT TO LYDIA - So I had a go an being an ice cream man/woman for my latest task! Andy, who has an ice cream van at Normanton Church, Rutland Water taught me the ropes and I served the customers. Of course I ended up sampling the ice creams, had to make sure they were ok for the customers! I tried goats milk ice cream as well. Hear how I got on on our podcast and if you have a mission for me, please let me know studio@rutlandradio.co.uk.

TAKE THE CAKE -  I went to Artisan Creative, in Tinwell to deliver some cakes to Amanda and the team. They nearly didn't get any cakes because I drove straight past the to entrance to the estate it's on, then realised I completely missed it so had to back track but I found them eventually and I hope you all enjoyed the cakes!

If you want to be the star employee of the business and treat everyone to a bunch of cakes - http://www.rutlandradio.co.uk/features/take-the-cake1/

ALL STARS - 12 All Stars from Market Overton Cricket Club got the chance to show off their skills at Trent Bridge. They are aged between 5 and 8, some haven't played cricket before they joined so lots of excitement and fun for them all.

OAKHAM POSTERS  - Rob took the breakfast show out live to catch up with the two pupils at Oakham C of E Primary who have designed the new level crossing safety poster for Cross County Trains. We'll soon be seeing Minne Sheristen & Louis Dayde's poster around Oakham.

FRIDAY 14TH

SEB'S HAIR CUT - A huge well done to Sebastian Constable who grew his hair to then chop it all off for the charity, Little Princess Trust. He raised over £400 as well find his page at justgiving.com and type in Seb's hair.

OAKHAM IN BLOOM - Judgement day for Oakham! This year's theme was Bloomin' Roadworks which I thought was very clever. Although they haven't had the easiest ride this year, with some plans unable to go through due to health and safety also the hail storm wrecked lots of flowers so best of luck to them!
