Getting sporty!

W/C MONDAY 21ST AUGUST

PARK RUN - I'm not great at running and I don't always enjoy it but it felt so good when I managed to get round the whole of Rutland Park Run without stopping! A 5k (approx 3 mile) run every Saturday morning at Rutland Water and other places across the nation and I decided to give it a go with Claire Maxted a local youtuber. I don't think I could have done it without her, she kept me going! Here's a little video she made. Please excuse the puffy and the bright red tomato face at the end: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNtTD0EriaY#

AGATHA QUIZ-TY - Rob was chatting about quiz team names - always a tricky one deciding on a team name. I love a good pun so I'd go for Agatha Quiz-ty (Agatha Christie) Dean Cornish has a few good ideas  Quizteam Aguilera (Christina Aguilera) and I think this is my new favourite Quiz Akabusi (Chris Akabusi). My house mate at uni always had a good one ,Drinks on the house, you'll be the favourite with that one but probably not the pub's.

FOOTGOLF - Yes you read that correctly, foot golf. It's a sport, combining football and golf together and you have to kick the football in bigger golf balls with the fewest kicks. I popped along to Rutland County Golf Club to have a go! I found it easier than actual golf and a lot more exciting. If you ever want to have a go, just get in touch with them.

GCSEs - A huge congratulations to all students picking up their GSCEs! I popped along to a few schools Stamford end, Casterton College, Stamford School and Stamford Welland Academy to chat to students and teachers. Rob popped over to Catmose College, Oakham and Uppingham Community College!

TAKE THE CAKE - Cakes from Javawocky at Coppergate in Uppingham went to David and Len at the Barrowden and Wakerley Community Shop! Yum yum in their tums! If FREE cake sounds good to you, then invite me to your work place and I'll bring cake! http://www.rutlandradio.co.uk/features/take-the-cake1/

SIX WEEKS OF SUMMER - Stop 5! Oakham Soft Play, Rutland Village in Ashwell. The children were big fans of Preston the panther bless them, Preston even got in the ball pit and Rob Persani! Can't pass up an opportunity to dive in a ball pit or go down the big slide, check out our photos: http://www.rutlandradio.co.uk/events/6-weeks-of-summer-on-rutland-radio/?platform=hootsuite

Next stop Burghley Horse Trials!

Also if you're off to Stamford & District Round Table's car show on Stamford Meadows tomorrow, Sayeh, Preston the Panther and I will see you there! We'll be giving away Rutland Radio goodies including car air fresheners... and they smell really good
