Event Summary

Arranged by Harringworth Fieldwork Group this presentation is by
Professor Susan Oosthuizen of Medieval Archaeology at the
University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education. Her research explores the interplay between tradition and inovation in the evolution of English medieval landscape.
New research about the emergence of the English suggests that most of the early medieval people in South Eastern England were
neither migrants nor conquerors, but local communities with local ancestry. This offers an exciting opportunity for Harringworth to re-
write its pre-Conquest history.
