Stamford Kiwanis 2019 Festival Parade of Floats
The parade of floats through the centre of Stamford is one of the highlights of a number of activities during the Festival week. This year will be the 40th parade that Stamford Kiwanis have organised! To celebrate this, entrants are recreating floats and themes of the past four decades and will parade from the Recreation Ground and through the centre of Stamford on Saturday 22 June.
There are 16 entrants in this year’s parade and we have 4 acts performing in the arena once the parade has returned to the Recreation Ground, where there are fairground rides and stalls as well. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will also send a Hurricane over during the event!
Activities on the field will take place between 12 noon and 5pm, with the parade expected to take place between 2 and 3:30pm during which time North Street, Scotgate, Broad Street, Star Lane and Red Lion Square will be closed to traffic until the parade has passed.
Entry to the event is free, but please throw a coin or two in the buckets of the Stamford Kiwanis Community Chest Fund Charity, which raises funds locally to help good causes and those in need in the local area.
