Rutlander Gerry Wells will talk about his distinguished military career as a veteran of Normandy. Gerry joined the Sherwood Rangers in 1944 at the age of 18. He commanded a Sherman tank crew, was promoted to Lieutenant after the war and was awarded Legion d’Honneur for his actions in France.
Gerry’s publications include an autobiography ‘Growing up in Sussex: from schoolboy to soldier’ as well as fiction and poetry.
