It’s a new term and there are some new faces at Rutland Radio, and some new programmes to listen out for.
We have an hour of memories with Classic Hits every weekday morning at 9 o’clock and two hours each weekday evening from 10 o’clock. There are even more memories and your chance to guess the year, Monday to Friday at 11.30am with three songs on the Time of Your Life. There’s also a great new way to start your Saturday night with an hour of the latest songs on the New Music Hour.
Rememember you can check out all our programmes on our website PLUS visit regularly for news, information and competitions!
Andy Fenton is the new voice of the Rutland Radio Evening Show, Monday to Friday 6pm until 10pm.
Andy says when he got the job of radio presenter he thought his working day would be fairly predictable – come to work, play some songs, talk a bit and then go home again. Wrong!
He’s been 100 feet up in the air on a fire engine’s hydraulic platform to record a feature for the show (which would have been fun if I wasn’t terrified of heights!), narrowly escaped "looping the loop” over RAF Cranwell. And that’s just for starters!
Nick Fromont is your host for a couple of hours of Classic Hits each weekday evening at 10 o’clock.
Nick began his radio career on hospital radio and was immediately bitten by the bug.
So much so that he decided to become a journalist and after completing his degree, he took a post-graduate course in sport journalism.
That’s worth knowing that when Nick plays a track by Blondie, he’s equally at home naming the members of the 1998 French World Cup winning team.
Lucy Doxy presents the New Music Hour on Saturday night at 6 o’clock.
Lucy started in radio and the age of 15 and hasn’t stopped since…..and she’s not too much older now!
It’s something that started out as a hobby and now says Lucy, is something she’s lucky enough to call a job.
We’ve had a very busy summer and have been to more events across Stamford and Rutland than ever before!
We are already planning for Christmas in Stamford, Oakham and Uppingham and will be out-and-about throughout the autumn.
You can catch us on Rutland Day at Rutland Water on Saturday 13th September and the Stamford Pet Show, the following day.
We will also be dashing around local coffee mornings on the World’s Biggest Morning on Friday 26th September.
There’s a new voice on Rutland Radio Sunday morning at 6am – we will introduce you to Esme next time.
It’s back! Win yourself an exclusive mug! Guess what the schoolchildren of Stamford and Rutland are describing each weekday morning at 7.40am and you could win a money-can't-buy Smalltalk mug thanks to West Street Garage, Stamford.
