Memories of Independence

APRIL 1997 IN RUTLAND – what do you remember of the celebrations when Rutland got its county status back?  I hear of hot air balloons, a party at Rutland Water with special independence Ruddles Ale, Peggy said Victor Woods sold a few limited edition Green Independence Rovers – she still drives her car.  She said Kim Lee had one too, when he was a solicitor in town.  What do you remember about the weekend?

STACEY’S FUNDRAISER FOR THE LITTLE PRINCESS TRUST – 12 year old Stacey Tagg has organised a night of entertainment with a fish and chip supper and silent auction at Stamford Welland Academy this Friday.  Tickets are £10, and £6 children
